On September 21 and 22, 2002, the class of 1946 of Iaeger High School met
for their 56th year reunion in Wytheville, Va. They were joined by
friends of the classes of '45 and '47.
Friday, they arrived at the Days Inn which was designated the headquarters
for the weekend. After checking in and exchanging greetings, they
wallked over to the Brier Garden, located outside the Wolfhart Haus Dinner
Theatre. They met for Hors D'oeuvres and snacks which were compliments
of Pete Hammes, a member of the class of '46. Immediately following,
the groupattnded the Dinner Theatre for dinner and a stage play entitled
"Grease".
Saturday morning, they all got together for breakfast at Shoney's, leaving
the rest of the day to do whatever they pleased. At 4p.m., the group
was escorted to the home of Clifton and Cleo Gardner at Atkins, Va, just
a few miles away from Wytheville, for a cook-out. Even though it
rained, it didn't put a damper on the festivities, and good times were
enjoyed by all. Each one expressed their enjoyment. Pictures
were made and their good-byes were said and all are looking forward to
the next reunion.
All the classmates appreciated the efforts of Shirley Lambert and Cleo
Gardner for planning such a memorable event!
